Gordon R. Muir’s practice focuses on all aspects of wills, trusts and estates, including basic to advanced and complex estate planning, business succession planning, asset protection, probate and trust administration and litigation, will/trust contests, elder abuse, guardianships, and estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. Mr. Muir is dedicated to providing superior legal representation and exceptional client service while helping families to accomplish their estate and tax planning objectives. Mr. Muir also regularly advises clients on how to prevent litigation, but stands ready to aggressively represent them in court when necessary; understanding, however, that alternative dispute resolution techniques may be preferable for many families to avoid the emotional strain and other rigors of litigation. Mr. Muir has achieved an “AV Preeminent” rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the world’s most trusted legal resource. The “AV Preeminent” rating is the highest possible rating for an attorney’s ethical standards and legal ability. The rating represents the pinnacle of professional excellence and is achieved only by the attorneys who have been reviewed and recommended by their peers - members of both the bar and the judiciary.
As a young man, Mr. Muir served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Guadalajara, Mexico. Mr. Muir has been married for forty-two years and has been blessed with a wonderful wife, three children and five grandchildren. Mr. Muir has provided volunteer service for the YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, Washoe County Senior Law Center and the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada.
